1c-5c Jamestown (328-330). Panes of 100, with double imprint, plate nos. and arrow at top, plate nos. 3544 (1c), 3603 (2c) and 3556 (5c), 1c and 2c with selvage at both sides, 5c with selvage at left, 2c and 5c Mint N.H. (2c with tiny adherence on one stamp on one plate block), rich colors, 1c with few perfs mostly in selvage sensibly reinforced by hinges, 2c few tiny natural gum skipsFINE-VERY FINE. A RARE COMPLETE SET OF PANES OF 100 OF THE 1907 JAMESTOWN ISSUE.
The Jamestown issue was printed from plates of 200 subjects, divided into top and bottom panes of 100. This set of panes amply demonstrates the narrow spacing between stamps, which led to difficulties in perforating and a dearth of centered copies. For some reason, every pane of the 5c that we have encountered does not have the selvage at right.
Scott value as 2c and 5c Mint N.H. plate blocks and singles and 1c as all hinged (which they are not) exceeds
1c-5c Jamestown (328-330). Singles with top and bottom plate no. selvage mounted on exhibit pages, representing a complete set of top and bottom plate numbers for the Jamestown issue, including 1c nine plates, 2c 32 plates and 5c four plates, we presume all are original gum and no doubt some will be Mint N.H. but these were not collected for the backs, bright colorsFINE-VERY FINE. AN IMPRESSIVE AND RARE COMPLETE COLLECTION OF TOP AND BOTTOM PLATE NUMBERS FOR THE 1907 JAMESTOWN ISSUE.
Scott value as all hinged singles without regard to the plate numbers is $3,820.00 That value in no way measures the difficulty of compiling this set.
