Plate 7-A, Type III (Westerberg Position 3), ample margins to clear, light strike of black Honolulu circular datestamp cancel is clearly visible at top right and bottom left, faint corner crease at bottom left, small thin spot at top rightFINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTREMELY RARE USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1864 2-CENT HAWAIIAN NUMERAL ON LAID PAPER WITH THE "NTER" VARIETY FROM PLATE 7-A.
Perhaps a dozen used stamps from Plate 7-A are known. We are aware of only one other with the "NTER" variety, offered in our 1999 Aall sale -- it was faulty with a 2mm hole at center.
