12c 1875 Issue, Large Die Trial Color Proofs on India (PR16TC1a). Seven of the eight Scott-listed colors, missing only the Brown Rose, printed on India paper and die sunk on cards, six cards are approximately 115 x 170mm, the Black cut down to just outside the die sinkage area, brilliant colors throughoutVERY FINE. A LIKELY UNIQUE SET OF LARGE DIE TRIAL COLOR PROOFS FOR THE 12-CENT 1875 NEWSPAPER ISSUE.
Each example of nearly all of these colors is believed to be unique. The National Postal Museum reportedly has a second example in Green. Scott value of $600.00 each seems very conservative for this level of rarity.
