Positions 24-26R1E, horizontal strip of three, ample to large margins showing bits of adjoining stamps at top, beautiful bright Plate 1 Early shade and sharp impression, tied by four strikes of vivid red grid cancels, matching "Norfolk Va. Jul. 16" (1851) circular datestamp on blue folded letter to New York City, Extremely Fine, despite the relative commonness of 1c 1851 strips of three on cover, a Plate 1 Early strip of this quality cancelled in red during the first month of issue is very rare and desirable, ex Newbury
