1c Blue, Ty. IV (23). Position 7R1L, the recut state of the rare Type I from Plate 1 Early, recut once at bottom (only eight such recuts on plate), perfs in but still shows top with Type I characteristics, tied by "Richmond Va. Jan., 1858" circular datestamp on printed produce notice, Fine, the perforated examples of Position 7R1L are exceedingly scarce, this is the only example on cover we have offered since keeping computerized records and it is also only the third in any form contained in Power Search
