1c Black on Buff, Postal Card, Coated For Re-Use by Louis Smith of Chicago (UX14 var; USPCC S17 var). Two cards, silver bands on front for new addresses, clay coated on back for new messages, one unused front and back, other used from Chicago Jul. 22, 1902, Fine, extremely interesting Postal Card varieties, we don't know exactly what Smith was doing with these cards (we are aware of his counterfeit operation and his legitimate business), but it seems he was doing a lot of work for very little money
