EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A BEAUTIFUL AND BRIGHT EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1847 ISSUE IN VIVID ORANGE BROWN COLOR.

In our opinion, the 1847 Orange Brown shade from the earliest printing is far more desirable than the later Orange Brown, and the earlier shade holds up much better over time. This is a superb example.
