3c Dull Red, Ty. III, Better Covers (26). Approximately 70+ covers, vast majority are better than the ordinary No. 26 usages, many interesting items incl. stamp with double perforations on all four sides (ex Alexander), "New York Ship" with "Due 3" straightline, Aug. 27, 1861 last day of legal use in Concord N.H., demonetized usage from 1943 on Southern Hotel corner card from Baltimore which was accepted, demonetized usage in Oct. 1861 which was not accepted, one correspondence of four covers showing the transition from the 1857 to the 1861 Issue, illustrated covers, scarcer towns, green cancel, also a number of better stamp varieties incl. a perf freak which created two-thirds of a stamp, defective transfers, repaired relief, part imprints, shades, couple with recut inner lines, etc., most of these were hand-picked by Mr. Wagshal in his quest for the unusual, overall Very Fine, a desirable group
