3c 1857 Issue, Snow Patent Affixing Machine (26-26A). Three covers and one stamp on piece, one cover with No. 26A, others No. 26, each with evidence of having been mechanically affixed by a Snow Patent machine or similar device, incl. clear blade cuts and stamps firmly stuck down as would be more likely with pre-moistened envelopes, a Fine and fascinating group for further study, each accompanied by a note from Ken Lawrence opining that they were machine affixed
