Oct. 8" double-circle datestamp on cover to Vergennes Vt., Oct. 1851 docketing at left, backflap tear and some mounting remnants on back, still Very Fine, a lovely combination of this scarce shade with a rare route agent marking, Simpson-Alexander list this as Rarity 10 (unique), however that is incorrect as the Wyer collection contained a different example -- which interestingly contains a manuscript day within the handstamp
