3c Orange Brown, Ty. I (10). Positions 84-85/94-95R1i, block of four, vivid color, large to huge margins all around, light strikes of Washington D.C. circular datestamp, small repaired edge tear at left of top left stamp and inconsequential tiny thin speck between bottom two stampsEXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. A SPECTACULAR AND EXCEPTIONALLY RARE USED BLOCK OF THE 1851 3-CENT ORANGE BROWN.
Despite the small repair this is still likely the finest used block known. The few other examples contained in our records are either faulty to some degree, have margins that cut in or both. This is the first we have offered in any condition since 2001.
