10c Black, Double Transfer (2 var). Position 2L1, showing slight double transfer at top in the background and top frameline, huge margins to full including part of adjoining stamp at left, tied by blue grid, matching "Louisville Ky. 10 Feb. 14" integral-rate circular datestamp on blue 1850 folded letter to PhiladelphiaVERY FINE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THIS DOUBLE TRANSFER ON COVER.
For no apparent reason, the Scott Catalogue does not list this double transfer as they do Types A to D. Elliott Perry called this position "Shift F" in his plating study.
