10c Black, Double Transfer (2 var). Position 6R1, Elliott Perry's Double Transfer Type E, top frameline heavily recut which tapers off towards the right side, also clear double transfer in several letters at top, large margins to clear, intense shade and impression, neat strike of blue circular datestamp from PhiladelphiaVERY FINE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 10-CENT 1847 ISSUE WITH A CLEAR DOUBLE TRANSFER.
Accompanied by Elliott Perry's plating notes which gives a detailed description of the double transfer. For no apparent reason, this double transfer is unlisted in Scott. With 1986 P.F. certificate.
