ARGENTINA, Buenos Aires, 1862, 2p Blue (13). Huge margins to clear, showing part of adjoining stamp at bottom, used with Argentine Republic, 1863, 5c Rose (7C), both tied by "Buenos Ayres 2 AGO 65" double-circle datestamp on blue folded cover to CorrientesVERY FINE. AN ATTRACTIVE AND SCARCE FRANKING COMBINING THE BUENOS AIRES "CABECITAS" AND ARGENTINE REPUBLIC ISSUES.
Due to the shortage of "Escuditos" 10c stamps, the use of "Cabecitas", which are denominated in Pesos, was allowed from June 1863 to January 1864. One Peso was equivalent to 5 centavos.
