2c 1869 Picorial Issue Specialized Collection. An outstanding specialized collection of the 2c 1869 Post Rider Issue in two binders from the Robert T. Goldman collection, comprising proofs, essays, used stamps and covers, starting with 18 copies of No. 113E3e in a variety of shades, single of No. 113E3d -- the scarce without grill perforated plate essay (Scott Retail $425.00), block of No. 113P3, the highlight of the collection is a cancel study of approx. 70 singles and four covers, incl. insects, shields, stovepipe, masonics, stars, carrier, towns, wonderful variety of positive and negative letters, red, blue and orange colored cancels and others, also incl. few varieties such as paper fold, double grill and two bisects on pieces (Scott Retail $6,000.00 for full cover), one is vertical bisect used alone (P.F.C.), other is diagonal bisect in pair with normal stamp (ex Coulter), some faults to be expected as the owner's focus was on nice strikes, overall a fascinating and valuable collection with a number of items that could have been individual lots, several P.F. certificates accompany, Scott Retail for normal stamps and covers with no premium for fancy cancels or bisects more than $10,500.00
