5c Brown, Re-Issue (105). Original gum, deep rich color, perfect centering with Jumbo margins on post-office fresh paper, dealer's small backstampEXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS SUPERB ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1861 RE-ISSUE HAS BEEN AWARDED THE GRADE XF-SUPERB 95 JUMBO BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE TO ACHIEVE THIS DESIRABLE GRADE TO DATE.
With 2001 and 2005 P.S.E. certificates (OG, XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 95, SMQ $11,700.00 as 95). This stamp was graded before P.S.E. started breaking out OGph vs. OGh. While the gum is intact and quite typical for the 1861 Re-Issues, we feel it would be graded OGh, XF-Superb 95 Jumbo if submitted today. This is the highest graded example in the P.S.E. Population Report and no others share this grade
