Pos. 48L8, exceptionally beautiful color in the rare pink shade, large to huge margins, neat strike of circular datestamp, hinged to Dr. Amonette’s signed plating card which states "matches Dr. Chase's master color chart"EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A WONDERFUL AND EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE TRUE PINK SHADE OF THE 3C 1851 ISSUE IN THE FINEST ATTAINABLE CONDITION.
Accompanied by a signed note from Dr. Amonette stating "Finest color and finest copy of the rare pink shade I have ever seen."
This color was listed and priced at $3,500.00 in Scott until the 2009 edition of the catalog. It continues to be listed in the 2009 and 2010 editions, but for some reason is no longer priced
