Sale 976, Lot 2667, The Martin Richardson Gold Medal Collection of U.S. Post Office Seals (1872-1969 Post Office Seals on Cover)1900, Official Seals (OX11-OX11c). 17 covers, wide variety of frankings and usages, both U.S. (Pan-American, 1895, 1902-1903 and Postage Due Issues) and foreign origins, highlights include illustrated 1904 World's Fair cover with 2c Louisiana Purchase and Orange Brown seal, "Damaged By Canceling Machine" straight line, cover from Calcutta India to University of Washington Library, missent and opened in error by George Washington University Librarian, cover from Olmutz, Czechoslovakia to Yokohama, Japan, forwarded to Vienna via New York where "Received in Bad Order" and sealed with three lithographs, several other better, overall a fascinating group hand-picked by the owner for his gold medal exhibit
