Two, used with diagonal bisect (1b; SG 2a), large margins, tied by neat strikes of oval grid, "St. John New Brunswick, MR 24, 1856" backstamp on cover to Ware, England, endorsed "By Steamer via Halifax NS" at bottom left, red "British 1d" handstamp and London transit datestamp, green receiving backstamp of April 7, right 2c slightly affected from placement near edge of cover, small piece out on backVERY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL COVER FRANKED TO PAY THE 7-1/2 PENCE RATE FROM ST. JOHN'S TO ENGLAND VIA HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA.
