1c Pan-American, Center Inverted (294a). Lightly hinged, unusually choice centering and wide margins for this popular invert error, deep rich colors on post-office fresh paperEXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS IS WITHOUT DOUBT ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF THE ONE-CENT PAN-AMERICAN INVERT -- GRADED XF 90 BY P.S.E.
The 1c Pan-American Inverts were found in at least four different post offices around the country. Of the 600 to 700 known, most have disturbed gum and are off-center. The stamp offered here is remarkably fresh and certainly one of the best-centered examples known.
With 1974 and 1998 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (OGph, XF 90). This is the highest grade awarded to date and only four others share this grade. In our opinion, this is a very strong 90, possibly crossing the border into 95 territory.
