A VERY FINE AND IMPORTANT LARGE MULTIPLE OF THE 2-CENT SHIELD ISSUE WITH INTERNATIONAL VENDING MACHINE COMPANY PERFORATIONS. AN EXTREMELY SCARCE MULTIPLE.

The International Vending Machine Company installed their machines in post offices, using the 2c Shield with their own 12-1/2 to 13 gauge perforations. The coils were replaced with the government coils in July 1908. A strip of seven was offered in the Shreves Agris sale (in 1997) and realized $8,500 hammer. This strip of four is one of the largest multiples.
