1c Blue, Ty. Ia (19). Position 95R4, choice centering with large part of the bottom plumes visible, light strike of town datestamp, intense shade and proof-like impression, a very early state of the plate with clearly defined plating marks including the vertical layout line along right ornamentsVERY FINE AND CHOICE. A MAGNIFICENT EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 1857 ONE-CENT PERFORATED TYPE Ia STAMP. ONE OF THE FEW KNOWN USED EXAMPLES WITH CHOICE CENTERING AND A LIGHT CANCEL.
Due to narrow spacing on the plate, most examples of this stamp have part of the type characteristics cut away by the perforations. It is an obvious early impression from Plate 4.
