Two diagonal halves of the same stamp arranged on the cover to appear as a single stamp, tied by bold strike of grid cancel, "Halifax Nova Scotia, AU 23, 1860" backstamp on cover to Sydney, endorsed "Per Steamer Merlin" and also marked "care of J.S. Brown Esq., Harbour Master", receiving backstamp, missing part of top flapVERY FINE. ONE OF ONLY THREE RECORDED COVERS BEARING TWO HALVES OF THE 3-PENCE BISECT.
