EXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. ONLY THREE EXAMPLES OF THE 2-CENT 1902 IMPERFORATE ERROR ARE RECORDED.

All of the three known examples of this error -- the only major error found on any of the values of the 1902-03 Issue -- are unused without gum and similarly creased. They are: 1) bottom sheet margin,creases, ex Brody (Shreves Dec. 6, 2002 sale, realized $5,000 hammer); 2) top right corner sheet margin, light creases, ex Chesapeake (Siegel Sale 873, lot 3032, realized $4,750 hammer); and 3) bottom left corner sheet margin, light creases, the example offered here.
