"Way 26" on folded letter from Daniel Clark (Chief Commissioner for the Louisiana Purchase and Territorial Delegate) to Daniel Coxe in Philadelphia, datelined "Houmas 24 Leagues above New Orleans, 11 Aug. 1807", letter mentions "Bought near Orleans on the bayou a small place for $9,000 - sold 3 days afterward for $12,000. I am dying with fear of war", embossed seal of "Robert M.
