Original gum, rich color, detailed impression showing the beautifully detailed lathework, well-balanced margins for this difficult issue, completely intact perforations at bottom incl. part of adjoining stampEXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT TYPE I 1857 ISSUE.
This stamp is especially desirable because the outer framelines, the defining element of Type I, are visible all around. It is also exceedingly fresh, which is a very rare attribute for this issue.
