3c Justice, Soft Paper (O106). Well-centered, tied by bluish-black oval grid, partly clear matching "Washington D.C. (1879 May?) 25, 6 P.M." duplex circular datestamp on legal-size cover to Nathan Goff, U.S. Attorney in Clarksburgh West Va., with "Office of the Solicitor of the Treasury" imprint, neat court docketing with May 1879 date, stamp partly lifted at lower left corner to check paper, toned vertical bands from bundling, otherwise Very Fine, there were two deliveries of 3c Soft Paper stamps: one in March 1879 and the other in August 1883; this cover is similar to the ex-Lockyear cover with the 3c Soft Paper also cancelled by the steel duplex device in July 1879, with 2007 P.F. certificate
