$1.00 Green & Black on Violet Intermediate Paper, Proprietary (RB9a var). Rich colors, purple 1877 handstamp struck several times, few faults incl. sealed tear at bottom left and diagonal surface scrape at top of oval, otherwise Fine, with 1981 P.F. certificate identifying this as RB9 on Green Paper (this stamp is listed in Larry Lyons' census); in 2007 a new P.F. review judged the paper to be "intermediate Violet", Scott Retail as normal Violet paper (RB9a)
