3c Claret, Ty. I (25 var). Original gum, barest trace of what may be hinging, deep rich color and proof-like impression, unusually choice centering for this difficult issue

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT 1857 ISSUE IN THE CLARET SHADE.

This stamp is extremely difficult to obtain in with such superior centering, due to the narrow spacing on the plate. With 2007 P.F. and P.S.E. certificates (both graded XF 90; SMQ $7,750.00). This is the only example to achieve this high grade, which is the highest awarded to date.
