1c Blue, Ty. IIIa (22). Original gum, in our opinion and in the opinion of the P.F. experts in 1990, the gum is in pristine Mint N.H. state (however, in 2007 the P.F. has reversed itself), deep rich Plate 4 color on bright white paper, design clear on all sides, showing wide break at top and complete line at bottomEXTREMELY FINE GEM. THE TYPE IIIA RARELY SHOWS ALL OF THE DEFINING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TYPE -- THIS STAMP IS A TRUE CONDITION RARITY.
The layout of Plate 4 still left little room for perforations. Most examples of Type IIIa are poorly centered, especially top-to-bottom. The example offered here, showing clear and unmistakable characteristics of the type, is a condition rarity.
With 1990 and 2007 P.F. certificates (the former stating that "it is genuine", implying Mint N.H.)
