10c Red Brown (J19). Mint N.H., deep rich color and proof-like impression on bright paper, almost perfectly centered with wide and balanced marginsEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 10-CENT 1884 RED BROWN POSTAGE DUE. A STAMP OF TREMENDOUS VISUAL APPEAL.
This is one of the most difficult issues to obtain in such superb condition. We submitted this stamp for grading, confidently expecting a much-deserved 95, but the P.F. gave it a 90 only. We will let the market decide.
