EXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1894 5-CENT UNWATERMARKED BUREAU ISSUE IS THE ESSENCE OF PERFECTION. IT HAS BEEN GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E., WHICH IS THE HIGHEST GRADED AWARDED TO DATE. IT IS THE ONLY STAMP TO ACHIEVE THIS EXALTED GRADE.

According to Brookman, the nature of the ink used for printing the 5c stamp caused rapid plate wear. The stamp offered here, with such remarkably detailed impression, in such pristine condition and with such beautiful centering, is truly the finest we have ever seen.

With 2001 P.F. certificate. With 2004 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $9,250.00)
