Sale 923, Lot 2514, 1894-98 Bureau Issues (Scott 246 thru 263)2c Pjnk, "Chicago Counterfeit" (248F). An unused single, unused pair with red pen "Counterfeit" written across the face and black ms. "C" in each left corner applied by the post office and a used single with machine cancel, typical rough perfs, Fine, this counterfeit was printed in Chicago by a group headed by a woman, Tinsa McMillan, the stamps were sold through a so-called "Canadian Novelty Supply Co. in Hamilton, Ontario, once caught and convicted, Ms. McMillan was sentenced to eighteen months in prison, not many stamps were circulated
