1c Blue, Ty. I, Large Die Proof on India (5P1). On 32 x 40mm card, bright color, showing clear layout lines from the dieONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED LARGE DIE PROOFS FOR THIS ISSUE. A GREAT RARITY.
In the Neinken book (p. 19), he theorizes that this die proof was made sometime after the 1857 contract was extended, and possibly was from a die made especially for the 1875 Reprint.
