5c Red Brown (12). Large even margins, unusually bright color, neat strike of "Paid" cancelEXTREMELY FINE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1856 ISSUE WITH A "PAID" CANCEL.
Most 5c 1856 stamps were cancelled in New Orleans. Colored cancels or straightline markings such as this "Paid" are rare.
