50c Carmine, 1895 Unwatermarked Issue (PR107). Mint N.H., brilliant color and detailed impression, remarkably precise centering with wide margins
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 50-CENT 1895 UNWATERMARKED NEWSPAPER ISSUE. PROBABLY THE FINEST EXAMPLE EXTANT—THE ONLY ONE GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E.
This is the only Mint N.H. example of this rare stamp graded XF-Superb 95 by Professional Stamp Experts. In fact, it is the only Mint N.H. Scott PR107 certified by P.S.E. The highest grade below this 95 is one hinged stamp graded 90 (followed by one at 75). The SMQ values stop at $8,000 for a Mint N.H. 90, but there is no such stamp in the Population Report.
Ex "Silver Lake" and Inman (realized $6,750 hammer in our 2016 sale—Sale 1131, lot 2603). With 1992 and 2004 P.F. certificates, and 2024 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95). We anticipate a record realization for this stamp. SCV $6,250.
