Sale 1291, Lot 70, Florida Postal History: Territorial Period (A-Q)Pensacola (1827). Two covers each with strike of small handstamp and dates in manuscript, first dated Jan. 30 (1827) to Fort Gaines, second dated Feb. 8 (1827) to Boston, each with "25" manuscript rate, latter with interesting contents from Samuel Keep who had the contract to build the Navy Yard at Pensacola, lamenting that the government broke its contract with him, Very Fine and rare examples of this italics postmark, these are the earliest and latest uses of the three recorded, the first ex Risvold, ASCC value $1,600.00
