Bold strike of circular datestamp with manuscript "Due" without rate on cover to Brenham Tex., endorsed by member of Wharton's Cavalry Corps, some flaws, missing part of top flap, still Very Fine, carried by courier across the Mississippi and mailed at Mount Enterprise, Texas, Wharton's Cavalry participated in the assault against Federal forces in the Battle of Murfreesboro on Dec. 31, 1862, this was probably mailed shortly thereafter, ex Dr. Brandon
