Sale 1291, Lot 507, Florida in the Civil War: Confederate General Issues, cont. (6-13)5c Light Blue, De La Rue (6). Large margins to barely in, tied by "Warrington Fla. Jun. 11" (1862) circular datestamp on oatmeal cover to Shelby Springs Ala. with red and blue 13-Star Confederate Battle Flag Patriotic design (F13-3), C. H. Nobles & Co. Pensacola imprint

EXTREMELY FINE. A VERY RARE COMBINATION OF THIS 13-STAR CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG DESIGN, FLORIDA ORIGIN AND THE 5-CENT RATE PAID BY A SINGLE 5-CENT LONDON TYPOGRAPH.

This is a "triple threat" cover with this rare 13-Star Battle Flag design, a Florida postmark and a single of the 5c Typograph -- which is far more often encountered as a pair paying the post-June 30, 1862, universal 10c rate.
