Neat strike of circular datestamp with manuscript "Paid 10" on yellow cover to Richmond Va., slightly reduced at right, some age spotting and wear, still Very Fine, this is the only recorded Confederate period postmark from this town (two manuscript markings are also known), illustrated in Briggs book on p. 48 and in Confederate Philatelist Vov. 59, No. 1, p. 14
