2c Brown, Cover Balance (113). Five covers and one ephemera item, first stamp with small perf flaws, tied by Circle of Hearts fancy cancel with "Milwaukee Wis. Oct. 21" duplex circular datestamp on cover with address label to Wyalusing Wis., Very Fine strike, second tied by bold rosette cancel on Sep. 15, 1869 folded circular and prices current from New York City to Belleville, Canada, pencil "1" due marking, Very Fine, third tied by circle of V's cancel on brown wrapper to Paris, France, red "30" centimes due handstamp, stamp with single pulled perf at upper left, Very Fine and rare wrapper use of the 2c 1869 to France, fourth used with 3c Ultramarine (114), tied by target cancel with "Braidwood Ill. Apr. 3" circular datestamp on small cover to Edina Mo., 2c small scuffs, still Very Fine and scarce 5c waterway rate which was obsolete at this point, fifth one tied by cork on Demorest's Monthly Magazine illustrated advertising cover to Cleveland O., with original illustrated enclosure, minor edgewear, stamp with tear and lifted and replaced, still Very Fine, with 2022 P.F. certificate, finally ephemera item is vignette of post rider on a galloping horse, similar to the design of the 2c 1869 Pictorial, at top of Jan. 22, 1838 Post Office Department check for $14.68, signed by Postmaster General Amos Kendall, attractive group
