Two-line datestamp clearly struck on folded letter datelined "Pensacola 20th Septr. 1821" to the Pay Master General in Washington D.C., endorsed "Free" and "Tho. Wright, Pay Master" at upper right, vertical file fold thru postmark, a Very Fine and rare strike of this marking sent during the brief American Military Government period, this is the earliest recorded example of this marking, ASCC value $2,000.00
