Natural straight edge at right, tied by Yokohama, Japan circular datestamp and "PAQUEBOT" framed handstamp on 2c Green entire from San Francisco to Nagasaki, sender's directive "Per Stmr 'City of Rio de Janeiro'", brown circular datestamp, label affixed over stamps indicates delay due to "Overcarriage on to Shanghai through neglegince [sic] of the str. Rio", applied by the Post and Telegraph Office at Nagasaki, label and back of cover with same "Nagasaki Japan 18 Dec. 96" (1896) circular datestamp, most of backflap removed, otherwise Very Fine, extremely rare postal label explaining mail was accidentally carried beyond Japan by the Rio de Janeiro on its westbound run
