Large margins to clear including part of adjoining stamp at bottom, rich color and detailed early impression, showing unusual dot in "U" of "U.S.", tied by two strikes of blue "Paid" straightline handstamps, matching "Poughkeepsie N.Y. Apr. 10" (1848) circular datestamp on folded cover to New York, Very Fine, only a dozen 5c covers are known used from Poughkeepsie, ex Gibson, Sampson, Rust, Guenther and Wagshal, shade confirmed by Dr. Amonette, with 2010 P.F. certificate
