Two-line italicized datestamp struck clearly in red with matching "FREE" handstamp on 1828 folded letter to Adjutant General of the U.S. Army in Washington D.C., endorsed "On Service", datelined "Fort King 18th Feby 1828", Very Fine and very rare, only two examples are recorded and this is the only with the "FREE" marking, ASCC value $1,000.00
