5c Brown (1). Two, dark color and intermediate impressions, margins to cutting in one side, each tied by bold blue "2" in double-line circle handstamp, matching "Philada Pa. Apr. 13" (1849) circular datestamp on blue folded letter to Pittsburgh Pa., both stamps with light corner creases, left stamp tiny margin tears at bottom, Fine and scarce use of the 2c rate handstamp to tie a 5c 1847 stamp, according to an article by Dr. Vernon R. Morris, Jr. in Chronicle 200, the "2" handstamp was used in Philadelphia to indicate payment in cash of "to the mails" carrier service for a destination outside the old city limits (pre-1854 consolidation), ex Stollnitz and Dr. Morris, with 1996 P.F. certificate
