Sale 1283, Lot 1635, 1909 Hudson-Fulton Issue2c Hudson-Fulton, Model on Card (372-E3). Wash drawing of frame with photo of No. 372-E1 vignette mounted in place and also worked over with wash, model mounted on 119 x 72mm thick grey card, the frame design is similar to the adopted design except at top corners with inscriptions "1609-1807" and "Series 1909", instead of "1609" and 1909" as seen on the 372-E4 essay and on the issued stamp, the "Celebration" inscription is as the issued stamp

VERY FINE. A UNIQUE COMPOSITE MODEL FOR THE 1909 2-CENT HUDSON-FULTON ISSUE, WITH REJECTED INSCRIPTIONS AT TOP.

The Scott Catalogue introduces significant confusion in its listing for this essay. The catalogue description for the essay is very similar to what appears here but they leave out the "Series 1909" inscription at top right. In addition, the illustration for the Scott listing is completely different from what is described (it is a cropped illustration for the model in 372-E4, which must be an error). With 2016 P.F. certificate
