Sale 1283, Lot 1577, 1909 Period50c Violet (341). Used with 8c Olive Green (337) and two each 10c Yellow (338) and 15c Pale Ultramarine (340), tied by multiple strikes of Philadelphia "PD" oval handstamp with purple "Philadelphia Pa. Registered Oct. 21, 1909" circular datestamp on large wrapper front with complete address to Chicago Ill., 50c with corner crease and one 10c creased from a fold, edges of wrapper roughly separated, still an appealing and extremely rare use -- the earliest known use of Scott 341, the Scott Catalogue specifically notes this wrapper front and states the earliest known use for a full cover is June 2, 1916 -- more than six and a half years later, with 2013 A.P.S. certificate, Scott value for No. 341 on cover is $5,000.00
