Sale 1262, Lot 469, General Issues On Cover10c Blue, Paterson (2). Large margins all around, tied by "Christiansburgh Va. Dec. 9" (1862) circular datestamp on oatmeal cover to Richmond Va., back with manuscript "If this letter is not called for in a day or two, please forward to Lexington Va.", cover was indeed not called for and struck with "Advertised 2" in ornate frame handstamp and then forwarded to Lexington, additional forwarding postage paid by second 10c Blue, Paterson (2), margin in at bottom and minor surface abrasions, tied by bold strike of "Richmond Va. Dec. 19, 1862" circular datestamp, slightly reduced at right, overall Very Fine appearance, a rare and desirable cover, it is not clear how the 2c advertised fee was paid to the Richmond post office -- or if it was paid at all, with 2004 C.S.A. certificate
