5c Red Brown (1). Crisp shade, early impression, ample margins all around, tied by red 4-bar grid with matching "Norwich Ct. Aug. 25" (1849) circular datestamp on greenish folded cover to Philadelphia Pa., fresh and Extremely Fine, the 4-bar grid was used by the Norwich & Worcester Railroad and then by the Norwich post office from Aug. 8 to Nov. 16, 1849, this is a very choice example, ex Matthies, where this was described as "Seal Brown" in Sale 353
